Erise IP Partner Jennifer Bailey will be co-presenting at The Healthcare Messaging Conference & Exhibition Nov. 29-30 at Harvard Medical School in Boston.

During the conference, which is sponsored by The Center for Business Innovation, Bailey will co-present with Kourtney Govro, CEO & Founder of Sphere3, which develops patient data analytics platforms used by healthcare systems across the nation. Their session, entitled “Intellectual Property vs. Intellectual Capital: How to Recognize, Capture, and Protect your Organization’s Know-How, Workflow, Technology, and Innovation to Improve Productivity, Safety, and Satisfaction,” will address the confluence, differences, and values of intellectual property versus intellectual capital.

Their presentation will discuss best practices and provide suggestions for quantifying and protecting both intellectual property and intellectual capital, including:

  • Identifying valuable workflows and how to maintain as proprietary to your organization
  • Measuring workflow efficacy, including whether an implemented workflow is actually driving productivity and satisfaction
  • Avoiding conflicts with vendors whose products may be used to automate your workflows
  • Leveraging your organization’s “best practices” with your vendor partners and other collaborators.

Companies consistently turn to Jennifer Bailey for legal advice on managing their IP portfolios as well as navigating patent applications through the U.S. and foreign patent offices. Jennifer specializes in post-grant review of patents and patent prosecution in a variety of technology areas.
