Erise is pleased to announce the addition of associate attorney Alec Larsen, an experienced patent prosecutor and IP counselor. Alec leverages his scientific background, including two chemistry degrees, to protect client innovations in the energy sector, particularly oil and gas technologies, and in other industries.

“Alec gives us further experience and depth in key client growth areas. Erise is committed to being a superior service provider to our clients; Alec’s hiring will allow us to continue providing our clients with efficient and thoughtful guidance,” said Jennifer Bailey, Erise shareholder and head of the firm’s patent prosecution group.

At his previous firm, Alec helped prosecute patents for a global telecommunications leader involving advanced networking technologies and IoT innovations. He also has experience securing patents for valuable technologies in the chemical, telecommunications, banking and financial services, fintech, AI and machine learning, software, mechanical, life science, and biotechnology industries. In addition to drafting and securing patents for clients, Alec also serves as an IP counselor, helping build IP portfolios for both startups and large companies.

Erise’s patent prosecution team creates targeted value for its clients by studying their business, their marketplace and strategic trends, and their competitors to develop intellectual property portfolios that advance competitive goals. This strategy has led Erise to be named one of the best patent prosecution firms in the United States according to Patexia, an independent research platform that recently ranked Erise among the top 4 percent of U.S. law firms in the high-tech category.
