Darby is a microbiologist who uses her experience as an academic researcher to analyze technology for Erise’s inter partes review (IPR) and litigation teams.

Of value to clients, Darby’s tandem experience in research and venture capital gives her an appreciation for the complexity and importance of intellectual property in diverse contexts. And as a former Division I college athlete, she is passionate about working as a team to support Erise’s clients and mission.

Before joining Erise, Darby’s graduate research used in vivo and in vitro systems coupled with bioinformatics to evaluate novel probiotic-based vaccines for rotavirus. She also worked as a fund analyst, assessing business-to-business software, medical technology, and clean technology startups.
