Erise Secures an IPR Win for Client Sony at PTAB

//

Erise shareholder Eric A. Buresh, along with counsel Jason R. Mudd and senior technical advisor Kathleen D. Fitterling, recently successfully represented the petitioner, tech giant Sony Interactive Entertainment, in a recent inter partes review (IPR) proceeding.

The underlying case was first filed by Bot M8 in 2019, alleging that Sony’s PlayStation 4 console and games infringed five of its patents, including the subject patent related to a “gaming apparatus with memory fault detection.” In October, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) found all challenged claims to be unpatentable under all grounds presented by the Erise team.
