Law360, Kansas City Business Journal Highlight Erise IP’s Win Against ‘Widely Asserted’ Uniloc Patent

//

Local and national media recently featured a ruling in favor of Erise IP’s clients by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board that invalidated what Law360 called a “widely asserted” software patent from Uniloc USA. Uniloc had filed suit against Erise clients Sega, Ubisoft Inc., Cambium Learning Inc. and Kofax Inc., in the Eastern District of Texas, accusing the video game makers of infringing the ‘216 patent.

Prior to this lawsuit, the patent had a long history and had survived three jury verdicts, multiple appeals at the Federal Circuit, and three reexams. Erise was the first law firm to invalidate the ‘216 patent.
