Pamela Johnson Named CAS Future Leader

//

In March of 2022 the American Chemical Society gathered in San Diego for their national meeting, ACS Spring 2022: Bonding Through Chemistry. Like many organizations, the return to in-person events was a highly anticipated opportunity to strengthen connections, learn together, and honor industry professionals for their work, including those chosen for honors in 2020 and 2021. One of those honorees is Erise’s own Pamela Johnson.

Johnson, an IP Technical Analyst, was named a CAS Future Leader in March of 2020 for her work while obtaining her PhD in Bioengineering. Her experience in bioengineering, chemical biology and engineering and biomedical engineering, makes Johnson an invaluable part of the Erise team. Through her extensive work in the sciences, she is equipped to handle all technical aspects of intellectual property law. In addition to her studies, she served in leadership positions with Student Senate, Society for Biomaterials Student Chapter, Student Equity and Inclusion Workgroup, Women in STEMM Mentoring Program, the Biotech Startup School, and spent time as a Technical Analyst Intern for Erise.

CAS Future Leaders, organized by a division of the American Chemical Society, aims to honor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers who are developing the innovative ideas that will help shape the future of scientific information. In addition to being named a CAS Future Leader, honorees are able to present their research at ACS National Meeting, and attend professional and leadership development. Johnson shared, “I feel honored to be recognized for the work I did in graduate school. It has been truly an amazing experience to meet all of the other awardees and hear their stories.”
