Erise IP made the shortlist for Managing IP’s PTAB Firm of the Year award, yet another accolade that backs up our unprecedented success at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).
Not only are Erise and its practitioners consistently ranked among the best of the PTAB bar in Patexia’s annual independent analysis, our attorneys filed the first-ever inter partes review (IPR) at the PTAB in 2013 and are the go-to counsel for multiple Fortune 100 companies. This award confirms Erise’s continued involvement and excellence in the PTAB.
Last fall, for example, Erise went three-for-three at the PTAB on behalf of a global technology leader that had been sued for patent infringement in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas on three patents that relate to smart card technology. Erise petitioned for IPR on all three patents and the PTAB found every challenged claim in the first two patents invalid in September, and the claims of the third patent invalid in October. Law360’s coverage of the PTAB proceedings is available here.
In Patexia’s latest PTAB report, Erise ranked in the top 2% of all firms representing petitioners at the PTAB and in the top 3.7% overall. Two of Erise’s attorneys – shareholders Adam Seitz and Jennifer Bailey – were ranked in the top 0.7% of all attorneys representing petitioners at the PTAB.
