Erise Goes “Three for Three” for Tech Client at the PTAB

//

This fall, Erise went three-for-three at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) on behalf of a global technology leader.

Erise’s client was sued for patent infringement in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas on three patents that relate to smart card technology. Erise petitioned the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s PTAB for inter partes review on all three patents.

The PTAB found every challenged claim in the first two patents invalid in September, and the claims of the third patent invalid in October. The Erise team responsible for these wins included Jennifer Bailey, Adam Seitz, Kevin Rongish, Virginia Brown, and Adam Sandwell

Law360’s coverage of the PTAB proceedings is available here. Two of these wins occurred the same month that Erise was recognized by Patexia among the top 2 percent of all firms representing petitioners at the PTAB. The lead lawyers on these matters, Adam and Jennifer, were ranked in the top 0.7 percent of all attorneys representing petitioners at the PTAB.
