In an independent and comprehensive study of inter partes review activity over the past five years, Patexia has ranked Erise the No. 19 best performing law firm in the United States for petitioners at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

For its 2022 IPR Intelligence Report, Patexia reviewed 7,030 IPR matters involving 4,966 patents and 77,846 patent claims. The independent research network evaluated overall activity and success to develop a weighted average to determine the rankings. All told, the study involved 905 law firms; Erise’s spot at No. 19 places it well in the top 1 percent of IPR teams nationwide.

Additionally, Erise was recognized as the No. 7 most active law firm for petitioners at the PTAB, and No. 20 for most active law firms overall.

The firm significantly increased its standing from 2021 in two key measures: In the 2021 report, Patexia ranked Erise No. 26 for performance and No. 13 for petitioner activity. Erise is now squarely within the Top 20 of all firms for performance and within the Top 10 for petitioner activity.

A number of Erise lawyers also were recognized:

  • At No. 7, Adam Seitz was among the top 10 most active attorneys representing petitioners; joining him on the top 100 list are Paul Hart, Jennifer Bailey and Eric Buresh.
  • Seitz, Hart and Bailey also were named among the most active attorneys overall.
